Description

Since I printed all the gloomhaven miniatures I needed to have a storage system as well for this. I am using A5 magnetic sheets while the miniatures are equipped with bases that have metal inserts thus they stick to the sheet as well as the number system which will be uploaded soon (once uploaded I will edit this one). The storage system has an a5 interior size and an external height of 80mm. Can be shoved in a shelve or hidden in a cabinet. For example I am color coding each tray so that I can have an inventory of all the minis that are found in the bronze tray etc.

If you need it to be modified, attached is an *.f3d as well which you can modify.

Update 1:

  • Created trays where you can simply add the miniatures if you don't have a magnetic system.
  • Added inserts for basic bases (20mm, 25mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm). Considering there is an editable file you can create your own. Otherwise let me know if you need a specific size.
  • Created 2 versions of inserts (one that can print without supports and one without)
  • Modified the top lid to have a 0 top and bottom walls and use only infill, this way you can save some of the materials.
  • Added photos with my own finished project.

If you have more ideas that can be easily implemented let me know and I can create another update.

Update 2:

Shaved off 0.5 mm from the inserts so it can fit properly with a loser fit.

Amazing tray! I was just wondering of you will have a 28mm insert available anytime soon

Hey, you're welcome. I wasn't sure if you needed a 28mm diameter or radius :D, I'm assuming diameter, yet I added both options, you can now see a 28mm print and a 56mm print. I haven't proof printed it as I don't have a need for it but it is created pretty much identical to the other ones. Enjoy it :)

Sometimes it works, other times not so well. P1S and A1 respectively.

Hmm, that is really strange, you get the same issue on both p1s and a1? Did you make any changes to the print profile? I've printed several myself and never ran into this (about 12). Is the print warped? From what I see in the picture the nozzle knocks over the structure resulting in a literal mess.

Looks like it may have been the issue of my printing it finer at 0.12. I tested it another time with your profile at .2 and that worked well. Funny is, .12 does work from time to time. Thanks for getting back to me about this

I'm happy that it works this way, I didn't run across it when I tested it, but all functional prints I make usually are in 0.2 and up, sometimes I jump to the 0.6 nozzle which is a beast. Have fun printing and if I can help you with anything else just let me know. Cheers!

Fantastic design. Would love if the pull tab for the trays were angled upward, acting as a wall; and if there were non-magnetic trays with circle indentations to fit bases. Most other stacking trays aren't as structurally sound as your design.

Gave the tray a print, love the walls, however the base indentation is a bit of a tight fit. Some super glue could fix it but might recommend sizing it down just a hair

Love this project! Meet my needs, perfect for storing zombicide / massive darkness miniatures along with some of my eldfall chronicles minis :D I'm just struggling a little with drawer prints, everything else turns out perfect. The main difference is that i'm using PETG to print everything, only the drawer is coming not perfect in some corners, mostly top site at the front corners. I tried the higher temps for nozzle like 260, 265, 270 along with reducing fan speed to 30, 35 and 40% and as fast I achived the best result with 265c and 33fan limit but still it's not perfect. I see that the issue happens mostly at begging of printing the top parts but only at the start, and only in drawer corners. Anyone maybe have idea how could I fix it or what to try? And yes the filament is dry, it has around 3-5% humidity in AMS when I start to print. Bambu p2s with bambu HF PETG and 0,4s HF nozzle on standard settings.

Hello, I haven’t tried printing in Petg but I’ve seen multiple people complaining about the high flow nozzle, test with a normal nozzle if available or do a flow calibration maybe?

im using this to get alot of the clutter off my shelf and it works beautifully for everything from 25mm to my 100mm minis. I print and paint minis on a monthly basis so the only thing I would say is making it to where I can customize what size I want per insert. for instance I need 10 25mm spots 2 50mm spots and 1 75mm spot and I think I could do that with 1 insert mainly to just organize per grouping kinda like with 40k armies

is it possible to have a 32 mm? Only if it's easy. Thank you for such a great design!

I will work on one and post it as soon as it is ready. I have quite a few things going on that need to be taken care of. It shouldn't take more than several days, I will ping you again as soon as it is done. Cheers!

I really liked your design, but I have a question. Has anyone done a remix with oval bases?

Not as far as I'm aware but i can help with the design, i just need a scan (if you have a printer at home with a scanner just scan the bases and i can use that to reverse engineer the geometry) or If you happen to have an STL of the bases.

where do you get your a5 magnetic sheets?? I’ve been looking for a good sheet on amazon but can’t find any.

Hello, local supplier. The thing with magnetic sheets is that they do not work together. You will need a magnetic counterpart. For example, all my minis were 3d printed and I modified the base to fit a relatively large washer in them. I used hot glue to secure it and they sit nicely over the sheet now. (I use the same method to attach them to the initiative base).
