February 2, 2025 Update V2: The hilt and blade are now a single unit (model appearance unchanged)
Several users noted that in the app, multiple prints of the swords resulted in chaotic blade arrangement because the slicing software wasn’t treating the model as a single unit. Version 2 addresses this; the model's appearance is unchanged.

Model Description
Mini retractable sword 4 - Ice Soul Sword: Based on the weapon Purple Cloud Sword from the childhood Chinese animation series *Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit*, the overall proportions have been redesigned for 3D printing. The hollow central ring faithfully recreates the original sword's form, with rounded edges for safety and cloud details added. The center is designed for finger rotation.
This is the fifth in my mini retractable sword series, modeled in Fusion 360. It's a single-piece print, requiring no assembly, with a print time of around 2 hours. Printable on the A1 mini, it's perfectly sized for both adults and children. I plan to expand this series.
Parameters: No supports needed, use a brim, other settings are standard.
Fans of mini retractable swords should check out the work of Teacher Cheng @老程3D设计. His page features many excellent mini retractable swords, with fantastic designs and short print times.

Notes:
1. Avoid printing multiple swords at once; this increases the chance of failure;
2. Cold weather reminder to prevent spaghetti: Clean the bed and heat it to 5℃ higher; use glue stick or adhesive;
3. If the first few layers stick and printing stops prematurely, use a craft knife to gently cut them;
4. If a section doesn't retract smoothly, it could be due to minor extrusion issues or layer shifting. Try retracting and extending it several times.
Acknowledgements (Optional):
Thanks to everyone who loves the "Rainbow Seven" mini retractable sword series. Your support allowed me to complete this set so quickly. I'm a rather lazy person; completing this before the new year would have been unlikely, but the anticipation from many users motivated me. I finally finished it, which is exhilarating and immensely satisfying! The design process itself was deeply rewarding. Thank you all! My skills are still developing, so any feedback is greatly appreciated; I'll do my best to incorporate your suggestions, thank you for your advice and patience~

Design Snippets (Optional):
- My design constraint for the mini retractable swords was a print time of around 2 hours— the kind that allows you to finish printing after a long day's work. Thus, the swords are relatively small, more like "knives", but this makes them suitable for both children and adults. It also reduces stress if there are print defects, failure, or damage during use.
- All seven swords were completely redesigned from scratch, not using AI or tracing images. While the overall shape is inspired by the originals, they aren’t one-to-one recreations. The transformation to miniature retractable swords involved considerable adjustments to achieve harmony. Some sharp features from the originals were softened for child safety and to simplify printing.
- Following the original designs would have been somewhat monotonous, so I added some personal touches, but the print size limitations mean many fine details would be lost. Balancing details and simplification was a constant challenge.
- Researching the original animation, I found inconsistencies in sword appearance and color schemes— a real headache!
- I discovered a high-definition "Rainbow Seven" series animation on Bilibili.
- I also found that Bilibili and Xiaohongshu have official "Rainbow Seven" accounts, still actively updating content.
I gave some test prints to a colleague's young daughter during a company gathering; she played with them incessantly! That kind of joy is priceless, surpassing any points earned on a platform.

“Courage in boys,
Sword in hand, roam the world.
Heart of a girl,
Gentle heart, fills the mountains.
Seven swords unite,
Like a taro root,
For a beautiful homeland,
We watch over each other,
Watching over each other forever.”
