Description

This system helps you store different types of components in proper places, making them easy to find when needed next time.

The Gridfinity-compatible tray system features 2 different trays and 4 different inner cases. Each tray and case comes with a customized nameplate, which you can edit in Bambu Studio. I've built a parts storage system to keep my workspace more organized. I'd like to share this project here.

  • Stackable Tray: These trays stack neatly together to maximize storage space.
  • Removable Inner Case: The removable inner cases can be freely swapped between any outer tray.
  • Customizable Nameplates: Part's name can be customized to help identify different types of parts
  • Improved handhold: Features a comfortable, tactile textured grip for secure handling.

Tray system A:  Designed to store and sort small components, such as nuts, bolts, magnets, and other similar components.

Tray system B: Designed to store larger components, such as longer parts or other Bambu kits.

Tray Lid

Tray Name Plate Plug
The nameplate should be attached only once.  swapping nameplates between cases will damage the plug structure, requiring a new print. The plug's strength varies depending on the filament type.

Custom Name Plate

Currently, only Bolt / Nut/ Magnet/ Gear icons are available. I plan to add more icons when time allows. You can either customize the icons in the print file or simply use the blank nameplate

Instructions to edit text on Nameplate/Case tag

  1. Rotate the plate to view from the underside.
  2. Click on the "Objects" tab under Filament selection.
  3. Right-click on "Name Text - Edit This," then select "Edit me (Text)." I use "Arial Bold" font.
Note: For best text quality, apply glue to the plate to prevent stringing.

If you don't want to use the customized nameplate file, you can simply print the blank nameplate and attach a label with the part name.

I love this design. I have printed a ton of these. And plan on printing more. I have a ton of small metric nuts and bolts and this allows me to organize them much better than the pile that previously was on my desk. I just wanted to utilize the space in the corners as well. So I modeled up these corner bins. They use the same tags and are working great for me. I just thought I would share my design. Thanks for designing this system. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1002131#profileId-979724

Really love the system . I was wondering if you could design some type of latch thing where I could keep everything together and make it portable so that it doesn’t come apart and it doesn’t fall by accident. Like if I were to be able to stack three of them together and take them with me somewhere and then remove the latch /strap and use it

Thanks for sharing your suggestion and print! I will consider making another version with a locking mechanism that's easy to carry in the future. It's a great idea for improvement!

A truly lovely box I have now completed it and made some modifications The inner lid Small Tray Lid was slightly too high preventing the box edges from interlocking when stacked I reduced the thickness to 1mm now it fits perfectly with the inserts in place

Thank you for sharing your feedback and the boost! I apologize for not catching the height issue sooner. I'm delighted you found a lid solution that works well for you. Your input will be valuable for improving the next version:)

I love the bins. Unfortunately the lid does not fit; it's too small. It falls right through.

It's designed to work when you insert inner cases. It will be fine. Thank you for your feedback.

I noticed that. Not all my bins will have inserts though. Thank you for the reply. This is an outstanding model. Good job.
