2026/03 Update:

  • Resize holes so screws can fit and grip better
  • Added new model for XL4005 and other variants. It's 1mm longer and have different board screw position.

=====

I really liked TeoMat's case, but I think the bottom base is thicker than needed since it need that space to heat set hex nuts. These case don't endure that much physical stress, so I removed it.

Change list:

  • Shaved 3.5 mm off the bottom removing space for 2 hex nuts. Board can be fixed in place just fine with metal screw biting into the plastic.
  • Now print perfectly without support. (original design needed support for screw holes)
  • Bigger trimpot hole
  • Make the screw cap holes in the top piece larger so it fit my button-head screws.
  • Lower stand-offs to better secure PCB in the case

I tested LM2596 converter limitations and checked on what amps this case will deform with PLA, PETG and ABS. I didn't expect these results. Full video info available here: https://youtu.be/Db7MBpquoLY

I've watch it, nice test for the case. It's been known that these module don't work at the advertised amperage so I only use them for low demanding usage below 1A.

Thanks! For the limits: you learn that from someone or the hard way.

Great model! But doesn't fit for my LM2596 Converter because one of the capacitors is too tall

Interesting, that's the first time I've seen this board with those caps. I've added a new print profile that's taller by 3mm for your board.

I needed a bit more space on the output side for a custom connector so extended the model to make room. Great model!
