Switch Desk Lamp

This design presents a creative desk lamp concept that seamlessly blends functionality and elegance. On-off switches, ubiquitous in our daily lives, typically serve the simple purpose of illuminating or extinguishing a light. However, the idea of a mundane switch itself emitting light struck me as ingenious. This small, unassuming tool we handle daily now assumes the role of a light source. Upon activation, it illuminates like a lamp, harmoniously uniting functionality and aesthetics. Its luminescence offers an unconventional experience, reminding us how remarkably transformative even the most ordinary object can become. Functioning as a true on-off switch, the switch lever simultaneously acts as a lamp, simulating light. When the switch is activated, the light turns on; when deactivated, it switches off, adding a modern, practical touch to any space. This functional and aesthetic switch is a design many would desire on their desks.

Within the profile files, you will find either a Star Wars-themed Darth Vader model or a standard plain lamp model. Choose according to your preference. Suggest your desired themes in the comments, and I will design the two most popular ones for you ;)

• Switch Mechanism: The lamp's primary control is via a physical switch. This switch performs the functions of a traditional on-off button. The user can activate or deactivate the lamp by moving the switch up or down. This mechanism provides a tactile feedback, offering a mechanical user experience.
• The Switch Lever as a Lamp: The design's most striking feature is that the switch lever also serves as a lamp. The lever simulates the illumination and extinguishment of light. When the switch is activated, the integrated LED lights on the lever illuminate.
• Light Source: The lamp's light is created using a Bambu LED Kit. It is integrated using the switch on the kit, simplifying and streamlining the design.

Necessary Materials and Important Considerations:

1. 11 M3 6mm screws
2. 4 M3 nuts
3. Bambu LED Kit

To ensure smooth on-off functionality in this project, an additional part needs to be used where the switch on the Bambu LED kit is located. This additional part ensures the switch functions correctly and reliably, allowing effective control over the light's activation and deactivation. You will find three of these parts within the profile: 1.4 mm, 1.5 mm, and 1.6 mm thick. Due to varying tolerance values across printers and filaments, insert the component that operates your button most effectively into the back of the switch as shown below.

Correctly positioning the second part, which moves to correspond with the Bambu LED kit's housing in the main body, is crucial. The elevation that actuates the button's on-off function must engage this part.

The lamp ring is designed to prevent the light from passing through the four channels from below and enhance its aesthetic appeal. It is intended for attachment to the cylinder switch component. Refer to the visual for assistance.

To prevent cable clutter, you can gently insert your cable into the channels along the body's edge.
