Description

This is my model of the entire Launch Tower with the Superheavy Starship from SpaceX. The entire build is roughly in 1/144 scale and has several functions.

Both arms are movable and can slide on the tower as needed. They also come with a safety pins to hold the Starship securely in place.
The Hotstage ring is very much redesigned be my to follow its function even in this scale and with being 3D printed but it indeed holds the 2 stages together and by removing it, you can detach the Starship from the Booster.

The whole build is divided into its own individual folders and includes all the model plus a “whole” model for each stage so that you can see how will it look when assembled.

Because it is rather complex build, I recommend to watch the assembly video.

Is this the booster piece? How are you supposed to get all the supports off without breaking the boosters off?

why would you print it with supports?

Because that's what the file did in Bambu Studio? I'm new to 3d printing. when I downloaded the model into Bambu Studio and sliced that particular plate it had supports.

Just turn off supports for this part. They may be on by default, but you definitely do not want to print this part with supports.

this was a challenging build. more than a couple f bombs were dropped, and mostly because I had to go back and reprint stuff that is left off of the plates. so for others sanity I’ll list what I can remember. you need 3 of the square safety pins, only one on the plate. you need an additional set of the braces for the chopsticks, only one set on plate. also the lower tower attach bracket of the booster claw needs to be flipped over or it will fail. drill all your holes with an 11/64 bit. tolerances are way too tight, yes my machines are perfect. add even more supports to the chopsticks or they will look terrible. watch the assembly fully through. don’t do a step then pause and perform the step. he likes to jump around. ruined pieces because of this. don’t touch the booster rockets, they are very fragile. I still gave it 4 stars for the effort and once together it looks amazing. had no idea what space x was until a friend wanted this made. I wanted to kill him when I was done.

Yes the parts missing is an issue! Didnt have that problem with the side holder not turning out nice, but yeah the chopstick arms are pretty low quality due to the all the support damage. No cleaning will fix that up, but i can get over it ;)

you had no issues with scaling down? i’m worried about going from 1:144 to 1:200, but wow 150mm is impressive

5 stars. I didnt make the tower yet, but the Starship is amazing with all the little details. I will post a photo soon. Everything fit together perfectly. Incredible. Thank you for your model! Update: tower finished. Im so glad I stuck with it, it is a long print but my absolute favorite so far. Immense and awesome!!

I'm currently printing this model and it is going well so far however, I would suggest a slight redesign of the boosters because they are comically fragile. Don't breathe on them or they'll break off.

well... if you print it with supports, then dont be surprised... So far, I have lost only one nozzle and it was because of a transport to an expo, where I accidetally crashed the model to a wall... So they are not as fragile as you might think.

Sir, I'm not saying the model is bad. I did say I was new to 3d printing and I did get it to print without aupports. But they are extremely fragile. It's a good design, maybe a tweak wouldn't hurt is all.

I'm having trouble getting the chopsticks-supports plate to print as well as the arms-supports plate. Is there something I'm missing there? The cross members don't seem to be printing that well by comparison.

some minor issues with sizing, but nothing that couldn’t be corrected easily.

Wow this thing is massive! I love it! Thanks for another amazing model Martin! I have only printed the Ship and Booster at this point. I need to make sure that I have a place to put the whole thing before I print the tower. :)

Finished. Still no idea why there is an extra tower section, maybe if you want it taller? Also the engines are so painful the base of them is so small even if the printer does them perfect they still break off very easy. Overall good print, fun and easy. Getting it all together can be a mission its a tight fit sometimes. No idea where the side fins that are printed go no where. Also missing two parts of the chopsticks that just need to be printed twice. Wish it was bigger, this is at %120. It can go %130 without cutting it down. You cant turn off supports for the engines, so you have to be careful not to touch a engine otherwise it will break off. Also have to slow the print down to print the engines otherwise it hits one slightly and thus destroying it. Used Bambu PLA Silk+ Silver for the rocket, turned out perfect. Thanks again for the model well done. I wish it didnt have your logo on the ship, the tower is ok. Some assembly instructions would be handy mainly for the rocket.
