Update 2024-12-26: I have added a metric version that uses two 24x48mm furring strips. I don't have access to that lumber so I can't test it. Please let me know how it works!
This is the second model of what I'm calling the 2x2 Frame Kit. It uses 2x2 furring strips to frame out an enclosure or whatever else you can think of!
This panel holder is used to provide extra support along the perimeter of a panel. I'm using a 24" x 48" x ½" panel of wood for the top and bottom parts of my enclosure and this helps mitigate bowing. I may need to develop crossbars if the load on the panel is too heavy.
Note: 2x2 furring strips are actually about 1.5x1.5 inches. This is made for those pieces of lumber. There may be larger/smaller furring strips that are either tight or loose. A rubber mallet and sandpaper should help for those thicker pieces :)
