Description

1/10/25: I have optimized the studs on the plate so they are tight. I will keep both files and print profiles up and have a test print included in each of them for your preference.

I initially created a display stand for my “Brick” Star Wars Tie Interceptor since its wings bow in if placed in the same orientation. However, I found that due to the forward center of mass, it would fall off if bumped. So I created this angled version that allows for better balance and it looks pretty dang cool too 😊

(Comparison of angled vs flat display stand featuring original Anakin Jedi Star Fighter Minifigs 😊)

The stand uses a 2x4 plate that is “Brick” compatible and shouldn't stress your set's bricks as it's ever so slightly undersized.

The stand height is about 2" so be sure to check out what kind of clearance you need.

I made the base the same shape and detail as a standard Tie Fighter wing.

The stand is also designed in such as way that you do not need any supports with the max angle being 45°.

While this is specifically designed for the Tie Interceptor set, I have found it works with many other sets. If you are looking for a larger stand for something like the Coruscant Guard Gunship, check out my 4x4 plate stand.

Enjoy and be sure to check out my other Star Wars designs (Including the Santa Saber from my Build Your Own Lightsaber collection you see below)! 😊

Looks awesome! And if you have bigger ones, I have a 4x4 plate version as well!

You're welcome! A question for you though... would it be nice to have some studs for the minifigs to go on?

yes it would! i added some in myself to your model, i saw that other uploads have the studs for minifigs but i like yours due to its wider base and shape, i just cut out the studs from someone else's.

Very clever! I'll have to add that to a V2 or V3!

Flawless print and really good fit. It was slightly stiffer (than regular lego bricks) to attach the X-Wing to the stand but it gives me greater confidence. All in all very happy with and will be printing a few more out!

Thanks for the feedback! I also have a 4x4 stand where I've updated the stud dimensions. it's a bit looser but the studs have a truer dimensioning.

I printed a couple more for the Milllennium Falcon and it looks great now. I'm enjoying the angled hovering style. Thank you so much for this print, I highly recommend it 👍

I'm just realizing it reminds me of the midi scale Millennium Falcon with how its angled slightly! Thanks again for sharing your pictures! If you have any ideas for improvements or adding to the library of prints, please let me know!

settings came out really nice and I really like the stand. unfortunately it's just a little too short to fit under my TIE. fighter. works okay for my tie bomber though

Base width is great, and the model prints just fine, but the mounting nubs are not quite as tight as they could be. Good for models not needing a tall stand.

Hey Llama! Thanks for the feedback. I might recommend your try out my 4x4 version of this stand as it gives you a lot more stability and more studs to attach too. I also made it so the studs aren't too tight so they don't damage your plates on your models because I did find that in some tests. https://makerworld.com/models/938489 But if you're looking for a taller version, that's linked in this model above as well!😁👍

Thanks. I tried both out. Did a little remixing at 100.5% for just the nubs, it's possible the PLA-Metal I used shrinks more than I realized.

Definitely possible! Thanks for giving it a try! I do know that the 4x4 gives you more stud engagement so naturally it grips better than the 2x4. Thanks for giving it a try!

Looks excellent! Connections are nicely sized - maybe a tad loose but better that than breaking bricks! Either way, works perfectly for my purposes. I will definitely be printing more. Maybe you could make some with taller arms?

Love it! How much taller are you thinking? No one has ever gotten back to me about taller sets and I don't have any taller ones 😂

Honestly, not much maybe an inch or two. I only say it because the wings on the Scimitar in the picture can't open any wider. I was just thinking of ships like the new Ahsoka Jedi Interceptor or certain Tie Fighters who have larger/taller wings.

A very nice display stand for smaller ships and sets. I was happy with the results of the larger and taller stand you designed for the Republic gunship set I decided to try some of your other ones.
