Shower Curtain Extension Rod Transition Sleeve
Print Profile(2)

Description
Updated 2024-12-26: Added Print Profile using 0.4mm nozzle using PETG. The print file can also be used to print with PLA and PLA+. Dry your filament (regardless PLA, PLA+, PETG or any other type) before printing to ensure the material has its elasticity restored and prevent straining problem. Without drying, the printed parts can be very brittle and with stringing problem like the photos below.

I modelled this Shower Curtain Extension Rod Smooth Transition Sleeve for my young son who had been calling my help to get the shower curtain in the right position every night 😅. The shower curtain extension rod in my home has a big “step” between the two halves of the extension rod. The step caught the curtain rings so that the rings cannot slide across the step.

I had used packing tape to smooth out the step. It didn't work. The tape just got worn out after a couple use. So I had been continue helping my 7 years old son doing the curtain work every time he takes his shower.
With the help of 3D printer, I've modelled a smooth transition sleeve. The edge of the sleeve can be printed so thin that the sleeve can wrap around the rod with almost no gap between the sleeve and the extension rod. It works very well! Now my son can easily move the shower curtain easily without calling my help anymore. 😄 The curtain rings can glide across the transition sleeve smooth without any catch feel.

Shower Curtain Extension Rod Dimension:
The larger side has OD 25.5 mm
The smaller side has OD 22.25 mm
Installation:
Align the sleeve on the transition. The thicker side of the sleeve goes onto the smaller diameter rod. Push the thicker portion of the sleeve onto the rod first. The small flex of the sleeve wall will be opened up by the rod. Continue pushing on the thicker section of the sleeve until the sleeve clipped onto the curtain extension rod. Adjust the position of the sleeve so that “step” of the rod is aligned with the internal step of the sleeve. DO NOT pushed on the thinner section of the sleeve or you will crack the sleeve which is printed with very thin tapered wall.
Hope this model can help to free up your “calling for service” time. 😅
