Description

I have seen a few options out there for adapter plates to allow the Milwaukee M18 fan to be used on Packout boxes, but I wasn't a fan of having to remove the rubber feet and thread into the plastic underneath. Instead I came up with this design that uses the wall mounting points and can be easily reversed if needed.

I have provided pictures of the screws I used and different head styles might work as well, but this is all I had to test with. The screws I used had to be angled and pivoted into the holes. I also used M6 washers underneath the heads of the screws just to allow the pressure to be dispersed a little better. The M6 washers had to be pivoted in as well, and after the head of the screws where in. I think using just the screws would have been fine, but I wanted to be safe. Next I slid the adapter on and centered the best I could since there is a little bit of play due to the screws being able to move, but this was not hard at all. Next I used M5 washers underneath the nuts, which again is optional but was just a precaution. Once the nuts were on I just tighten them down using an 8mm socket by hand being careful to not overtighten them.

As far as supports go, I have painted them on under the 90 degree overhangs on the bottom half, but that is all I used and it seemed to work okay. If you would like cleaner angles on the feet and above the holes I would suggest using more, but they are not necessary.

Below is the list of hardware that I used to attach this adapter.
