Description
A lever to quickly detach the filament hub while also strengthening its base, allowing you to move your AMS Lite to another printer, switch between AMS Lite units on the same printer, or swap between an AMS Lite and a single spool setup—all without removing a single bowden tube.
A remix of this model on Makerworld
updates:
- 22/12/2024: added a version that has a stabilizer for the filament hub, added under print profiles
Advantages
No more Y-splitter: print a single bowden tube adapter for when using an external spool, or purchase a second filament hub dedicated to external spools.

- INFO: When you print an adapter, you lose the spool tangle detection since the printed part lacks the necessary magnet.
No need to remove bowden tubes from the hub: its difficult and the bowden tubes get loose after a couple of times

- Easier printer switching: Moving the AMS Lite between printers is much simpler.
Enhanced portability: Transporting the printer is significantly easier now.
Reason for the remix
- Spool tangle detection: The spool tangle detection dit not work with the original model.
- Better aesthetics: Updated design for a sleeker look.
Increased stability: This design stabilizes the hub, making it less fragile.
Installation Notes
- Supports are easily removable from the model with a screwdriver, mind your hands.
You’ll need to replace the two base screws with longer ones. Bambu scraper screws will work, as will the screws for the ams stand.
(BT 2.6x8)

- The part is designed to open at the back for initial installation, allowing the extruder cable to pass through and enabling easy installation of the slider in the base. Additionally, it clamps the extruder cable base for added rigidity

Extra Note
When printing from an external spool, the filament remains in the extruder at the end of the print. To swap out the filament hub, you’ll need to cut the filament. I manually cut it using the lever and use the extruder controls on the screen to unload it—no need to heat the hotend. After this, you can safely disconnect the filament hub.
