Description

All the recent string trees made me think one of those crazy mop dogs would be fun! Uses variable layer height to get detail on the nose, while the rest is thick layers. Shown in PLA Basic, but I think it would look best in PLA Matte for body and Basic for nose.

See pictures to finalize model after printing:

  1. Use small pliers or other tools to remove the tree supports from the back legs.
  2. In layers: cut strings away from outer shell then cut outer shell and peel away. Try to be gentle to avoid breaking too many strings, but if a few break don't worry.
  3. Trim strings so that none extend below the legs. You can trip into a slight cone shape towards the head to look like the grey dog, or leave un-trimmed to look like the white one (see pictures).
  4. Use a hair dryer to soften and blow the strings downward, forward over the face, and backward over the back legs. You can use a toothpick to adjust and “comb” tangles if you're quick and gentle. Go slow for best results.
