Description

It's made for a 12" wheel that is 1.2" thick on the outer edge, with 3/8" diameter pegs that are 10" apart on center. Print the two different lids for two different sized openings. CAD file is included if you want to try to monkey with it to make other sizes. I sized the openings to fit two fat orings that I found on Amazon. I took photos of the labels so you can see their specs.

Note: Just added a third lid for bigger pieces.  uses an oring that is 0.275" thick, 6.025" OD from Amazon.

how hard would it be to modify this for a 11” & 14.25” wheel?

easy… I think it’s just different arm lengths and pin location. Tell me a bit more and I’ll rip it out for you. (A) diameter of your wheel; (B) thickness of the outside edge of your wheel; (C) center-to-center distance between the pegs on the surface; and (D) diameter of the pegs themselves.

I just uploaded modified arms for those wheel diameters. LMK if the pegs arent 0.375" diameter and 10" apart, or if your wheel isn't 1.2" thick. 5 minutes to modify.

Thanks Geoff! I will give it a try and let you know. if the measurements are different I will post them here. Do you know how I access the other files? I see the main file but when I click on “print” it appears to only be the main tower and not the arms / tops. I am new to this so I am sure the mistake is on my part.

I would like to see a lid half way between the small and medium if possible. I also printed the o rings with TPU 95A and they seem like they will work just fine.

Cool. Good to know the TPU works ok. I can add some solid models for the orings when I get a chance. Happy to drop another lid into this... as the other lids were designed around orings I purchased on Amazon, do you want to specify the opening size you'd like?

3 inches would be good. Here is a picture of the ones I did with tpu. I am trying to learn con- Fusion 360 but haven't gotten very far. I modified the 13.75 arms in Orca to fit my wheel thickness (.70 in) with the slice tool and they fit well.

Hi Geoff, If it's not too much trouble, can you add a version for a 14" wheel. Pins are the standard 10" on center. Thanks so much.

Added a new plate with the arms for 14" plate. Think I may make arms that are adjustable... didnt realize there were so many variants!

Thanks, I think I will try using it with my Giffin Grip instead of the arms, we'll see. I can always print the arms if need be.

Curious how this worked with your giffin grip?

It held the tower fine using the short sliders.

This is a great tool to print to help with trimming fun shapes. The commercial options are really expensive, and this well thought out and flexible design really solves the problem well.

The dimensions appear to fit my A1 mini but getting an incompatible printer option when trying to print.

interesting. never seen that error as I only have the x1c. I put all the step files on there to download… maybe see if you can start a new profile in the slicer and add the model parts? there wasn’t anything fancy about the print profile. let me know if there is something you figure out that I can do to the model to help you work it out.

I am printing it out now, wondering if you could make it so the different size lids could be printed with TPU as a drop in or something rather than the o-rings.

Thanks for giving it a go... you see anything that needs improvement or upgrading? I made it for my wife - printed fine and she has used it a bunch, but the CAD model is really easy to modify if you have ideas.
