Hello,

for those that don't know my ‘insert philosophy’ - I am creating modular inserts that are focused on reducing setup and space on table, filament consumption is not my highest priority, but of course I'm trying to save some material where I can.

Update 13.06.2024 - version 2.0:

  • major redesign, all files replaced with new ones. Old files are in Version 1 folder,
  • 19 models resulting in 19 parts (around 30 counting all card separators) in old design vs 9 models resulting in 14 parts. Insert simplified a bit, teardown should be easier and faster,
  • around 750g on my current settings needed for 1st version vs 570g for 2nd version. 180g lighter! That's a significant filament reduction,
  • removed the need for magnets,
  • removed market and monster dashboards - I think they were overkill and they didn't help as much as I hoped. Monster clues you can now put in Other_Tokens_Holder during the game,
  • there is a lot more space for combat dices and tokens - it's easier to take everything out and put everything back to the holder,
  • deck holder redesigned - now market and fiends cards holder have two compartments, to store 1st level and 2nd level separately,
  • new cards setup holder - designed to speed up setup,
  • new monster holders - designed to speed up setup, each holder stores 2 monsters (so 4 monster cards) and clues for them (so 18 small cards in total). There is space left in the box, so I could design 2nd version of that holder to support lenticular monsters.

In old design finding clues for chosen monster was not as easy as it should be. Taking out 1st combat dice was also a challenge and putting them back to the holder was time consuming. Finding setup cards (especially help cards, because there are multiple versions) was also not easy. I decided to optimize that.

Important Notes:

  • Clearence for holder covers is very small - 0.2mm horizontal. Please print the smallest holder and cover for it to check if it fits, if not you may need to calibrate printer or enlarge cover a bit (adding 0.2-0.4mm to the width in the slicer should be enough),

Supports:

  • vertical storage,
  • Fiends & Familiars, Monster & Minions expansion,
  • all promos - in current version Lenticular Monsters won't fit. Leave a comment and I will design 2nd version of Cards_Monster_Holder that will support Lenticular Monsters,
  • sleeves - this is mainly design for 70 microns sleeves (I use Sloyca), but there's plenty of space, I think 90 microns or even 110 could fit.

This insert features:

  • market deck holder and minions deck holder - with two compartments for 1st and 2nd card level,
  • coins, combat dice, XP holder,
  • tokens holder - with option to put monster clue cards in it during the game,
  • monster cards holders - each holds 2 monsters (monster cards and clues),
  • minions card holder,
  • setup cards holder - designed to optimize setup and teardown.

Requirements:

  • about 570g filament needed, (depends on your settings, I printed with 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls, 5 top and 3 bottom layers),
  • at least 203mm x 140mm print bed.

Instructions:

Supports - no supports required.

  • every file ended with xX (for example x16) - print X times (in given example - 16 times),
  • refer to pictures how to organize the box,
  • spacers, cards dividers - if there are any in this insert - I printed them with 4 walls, no top, bottom, honeycomb infill.

What future holds:

  • If someone asks - I will add support for lenticular monsters. Otherwise I think this insert is done.

Enjoy!
