Description

As we travel through the stars, who knows what new friends we will meet! We'll have to design protective gear for our new pals. This is a model of a dragon wearing a specialized space suit with a removable helmet. This allows for a multicolor print without AMS. I printed the helmet piece in transparent filament so that the dragon's face is still visible.

I have included a print file of just the head & helmet (with a simpler face) so you can test out different sizes and filaments without wasting lots of material on the full print. There is also a single piece print if you don't care for the helmet to be removable.

Base model developed using PrintMon Maker. I removed some extra limbs and redesigned the face. I redesigned the head to accomodate the removable helmet.

Assembly:

The helmet has two raised notches that slide into two divets in the astronaut body print. I have attached some close-up pictures in the model pics to help you out. If you are having trouble, try flipping the helmetaround as you may have it upside-down. Over time, non-flexible filaments such as PLA will lose their ability to hold the helmet together. You can print a new helmet or use a different filament if this is an issue for you. You can also glue the helmet on if you wish. Enjoy!
