Bill of Materials
Description
Angled bracket for a PC4-M6 connector to connect PTFE tubes to a filament dry box. Angles from a straight 0°, to an extreme 60° are included.
Update July 2025
- Improved design on the filament inlet to improve filament path, reducing risk of filament breaks.
- Added more angle variations: 15°/30°/45°/60°, and a straignt 0° for completeness.
- Added blanking plates, to cover up holes if you decide to reposition a connector.
Design
I needed an angled bracket to get a smooth draw from a custom filament dry box.
This was designed for the filament path to align on typical plastic storage/cereal boxes with wall thicknesses of 1.5mm to 2mm. Comment below if you need a modified version for other wall thickness or custom angles.
Printing
Supplied print profile uses 0.12 layer height on the connectors, to ensure enough detail in the M6 threads and ensure a smooth curve for filament entry on the other side.
Parts
A PC4-M6 Connector. Available in the Bambu Lab store in packs of 5.
2 x M3 8mm screw
2 x M3 nut
Installation
Central hole should be at least 8mm (60° connector may require more). Screw holes should be 3.5 to 4mm.
A drill template is included - use tape to hold in place.
Questions
Can I have a different inlet + outlet angle?
I don't recommend this, however some quick testing shows that, if you change by a single 15° step, and this change is in the same direction as the natural curve of the filament from the spool, it's probably OK.
Credits
Inspired by Tilted PTFE Fitting Socket, but that only had a 20° angle, and was for M10 threads. My design uses the same 24mm hole spacing and M3 8mm screws.
