Description

After extensive design and testing, the Rotating AMS Lite Stand for the A1 is finally here! This stand improves stability, preventing tipping, and rotates for easy spool access.

During the design process, I found a top-only mount caused the A1 to tip backward and twisted the top support bar under the AMS Lite’s weight. The solution was to build a supportive leg and position the AMS Lite on top it.

Features:

Fully 3D printable—no extra parts needed.
Enhanced stability for the A1 printer.
Rotation for quick spool changes.
Smooth, snag-free operation during use.

Updates:

April 2 2026: Changed default wall count from 2 to 3 for added strength. Thanks for the suggestion Patrick!

Measurements:

Height with spools loaded from base to top of spool: 33.5 inch or 85 cm
Depth from back of A1 frame to back of spool: 9.5 inch or 24 cm

Instructions:

Print and assemble this model
Go to my A1 Mini AMS Lite Rotating Top Mount Vertical Stand project and print the ‘Rotating Holder’ part.
Once printed, unscrew the original AMS Lite base from the AMS Lite unit and replace it with the newly printed ‘AMS Lite Holder’.

That’s it! You now have a fully functional AMS Lite Vertical Rotating Stand for the A1. Enjoy!

Attention: Ultimate Spool Enclosure users

While I do not have the ultimate spool enclosure, some other users have created add-on solutions which may help with compatibility using that enclosure system.

@Mojoeohjoe created an Extended Rod Attachment for lifting the AMS lite even higher, which may help if spool or spool enclosure parts are colliding with the base of the stand.
@DanG created a slimmer version of the U-shaped holder that may work better with the ultimate spool enclosure. It can be found on Plate #2
