Description
My take on a print-in-place guide rail holder.
- The rail is printed on its side for maximum strength
- The knob is printed in place with detents every 90 degrees and a strengthening hole through the center to increase wall count.
- The counterbored mounting holes for machine screws and washers have monolithic regions in the bolt clamping area to resist crushing
- Countersink finishing washers printed with concentric walls are provided for mounting with wood or drywall screws.
- Logos print separately, face up for best appearance, with a single color change for lettering.
- Asymmetric mounting / locating nubs ensure proper logo orientation when gluing.
The print profile is pretty standard. I tweaked the speeds of the letters a bit, but honestly, I don't know how much a difference it makes.
- AMS – Plate 1 is set for AMS use. Delete any unwanted logos and print.
- non-AMS – Plates 2 and 3 are set for non AMS use with a pause for color swap at layer 7 on plate 3
- Artisanal – The logo letters are raised making it possible to print plate 1 in a single color and carefully color the raised logo letters by hand with a paint pen.
The knobs will be stuck when it comes off the plate. Give them a firm twist and they should free.
Mine are in PLA. They are plenty strong, but they aren't in a van or on a hot garage door. If you print them in something more temperature resistant, let me know!
Mine are Milwaukee flavored. If you print these in Festool or Makita, please share some photos with us!
This is part of my growing track saw collection. If you have a request or suggestion let me know!
