Remington Rand Portable 5 Typewriter spool covers

This is a ribbon cover for a Remington Rand Portable typewriter. Please check that you have the second post that it will attach to, as some portables seem to be missing them. See the closer image for example of what you need. This is a simple print, and they just press on (snugly) and pull off. They do look neater than the spools, but it is of course completely optional to have them.

Printing

This is a very simple print with no supports. I used standard PLA but any filament would probably work. I use an A1 mini, so the parts will fit on any printer.

Usage and Assembly

Print off the left and right models. Note the “R” and “L” embossed on the underside, so you can't get them mixed up later. Simply press them on to both posts, gently. They should stay on with a pressure fit, please do not force them if for some reason it doesn't seem to fit - your machine may have different parts or bent parts or who knows what. While the metalwork here is strong, I'd suggest being gentle as you do not want to break anything. See images here for the completed look.
