Description
Cover for the Z-axis drive unit for the P1S
Attention please read:
there are now two different enclosures for the P1S. The newer models have stronger ribs in the lower area than the older models. Therefore, please measure which enclosure your printer has.
There are two print profiles for this:
- older model with side rib wall thickness of 1.2mm
- newer model with side rib wall thickness of 2.5mm (front and back 1.5mm)
Description:
The Z-axis drive unit on the P1S is open at the bottom. To protect the sensitive mechanism from dust, I designed a cover that is mounted from below onto the printer, thus covering the drive unit.
Especially when the printer is elevated by anti-vibration feet, the belt drive is better protected.
The cover is printed in four parts that are then glued together. To simplify gluing, markings are placed at the separation points and the parts are fixed using a dovetail joint.
Mounting to the printer is done by simply sliding it onto existing ribs of the enclosure.
The cover is designed for the P1S, I cannot say if it also fits the X-series, I would be grateful for information on that
