Blockade Chessboard, A New Way to Play
Print Profile(1)

Description
Introducing a modern take on the world's oldest game (I think). Blockade chess is a variant of chess where there are two T shaped obstacles impeding the run of play, that cannot be over run by any piece, but can be jumped over by the knight. This thins the game down into 3 simple pathways that must be defended at all costs.
Here's how it works:
The setup is different from that of a normal chessboard, but the game is mostly the same. Set the game board up just as you would as if you were playing traditional chess, but then remove any pawns whose path would be blocked if they were to move two squares forward.
From there, the game is played the exact same with 2 exceptions.
- No piece may go through the wall. Knights may go over it, and Bishops may use the diagonal squares nearest to the edges of the wall, as they would in a normal game, but no piece has a way to go through a wall, except for a Knight.
- En passant are not allowed.
Have fun and enjoy Blockade Chess!
