Modular Container / Canister set

I know what you’re thinking, oh jeez, here’s another “modular” container design. And while you’d be right that there are plenty of containers to choose from already, I think there might be just enough uniqueness about this set to warrant a download and see what you think.

This is a work in progress, but now that I finally got this first batch printed out, I wanted to upload these first while I work on the rest of the sizes and designs. I will be adding new files regularly.

This container set comes in multiple sizes and heights, as well as the ability to add on to the height of your container with double ended pieces allowing you to have one that’s taller than what a typical printer could handle. The larger ones also have removable divider trays. Multiple lid designs are available as well as the design of the container itself.

The threads are custom designed to be very easy to print, and easy to screw on and off. Even at higher print speeds with draft layer thickness, they still work just fine.

I’ve got some more ideas for adding different insert designs, areas for labels as well as a number of other things. I’m also open to taking some requests for features you’d like to have added as well.

Interior dimensions currently are 50mm, 75mm and 100mm wide. If there’s interest, I can also do some larger or smaller as well.

Printing info.

• I’m using a light fuzzy skin modifier on the containers with no design. It gives it s slight texture while also concealing the layer lines and seams perfectly. If you don’t want the texture, just click on the yellow modifier cylinder over the model and hit delete.

   

• These have printed fine with all the filaments I’ve tried. You can print at .2mm or if you want to save some time, one of the draft settings.
