Inspired by one of the best, funniest, most exciting and ingenious board games that is not solely decided by the roll of the dice, I designed a 3D printable version of it. Initially, I only intended to design a plastic version of the pyramid for my brother, as the pyramid from the first edition of his game was solely constructed from cardboard. Then I noticed that the pyramid version of the original second edition was made of plastic, but - and I am speaking from personal experience - it was not ideal. But regardless, in the end I simply thought, why not make the entire game 3D printable, because it has some advantages. The printable version is now smaller and more compact. You can take it to the beach, or outdoors in general, and play a round or two there as well, because even if it gets wet, it does not swell up like a cardboard game board or cards. A simple example of this is a spilled glass of water. Even if a card or component is lost - no problem… Simply reprint it…

To fully assemble the pyramid, it is necessary to mount the “pyramid lock”. To do this correctly, however, you will need two compression springs with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of 20 mm. If you do not have any on hand, look for old ballpoint pens that no longer write. Take them apart. As a rule, there is always a small compression spring at the front of the refill. I am not sure if they are all standardized, but they usually fit. If not, look for another pen, because most of them should fit. If you have all the parts together, please print out the “Pyramid Lock Check”. It is essentially the same component, but without the tips for the springs at the front and the hook on the middle section. Please use this to check whether it can penetrate the pyramid to the back without any problems. Depending on the filament, it may be that the pyramid, which incidentally should be the only one printed with the pyramid lock with 0.1 layer, sometimes has two strips of bridging hanging too low, so that the lock cannot penetrate freely. If this is the case, carefully straighten the overhang, either by cutting it away with a knife or filing it away with a small key file. If the check then works smoothly, you can now insert the correct lock. However, first insert the springs into the corresponding recess from above. This would also work after you have already pushed the lock through, but it is then a little trickier.

The pyramid and the playing cards should all be generated using Arachne instead of the classic slicer. All other parts can also be generated with the classic wall generator. If in doubt, slice them all with Arachne. Classically, all six pieces of the game board, the inlay, dice and camels can be sliced.

If you do not know what a fun game this is, you should watch a corresponding review on YouTube. Just search for “Camel Race board game 2 edition review”
It would simply be too complicated to fully explain the entire game here. There are certainly also instructions for the game in English and German on the internet, although I personally always prefer explanations in video format on YouTube.

However, there are two small differences, as the confused camels in the printed version each have their own die and not a split die. However, here too, both confused camels may not be moved piggyback, but the top camel must move first, even if the die of the lower camel was rolled first. As a result, it is also quite possible for a confused camel to move twice in one stage, while the other does not move at all in the same stage, which can lead to even more dynamics under the right circumstances (tested extensively).

Another well-known mini-expansion from the first edition is:
The referee camel

The fact that the camels in Camel Race pile up and run on together is a thorn in the side of the race organizers and is now to be prevented with the help of a referee camel.

The game is played as usual and supplemented by the brown referee camel. At the beginning of each stage, the player sitting to the right of the stage starter may place the referee camel on any free space on the track.
If a camel unit ends its movement on the referee camel's space, all camels in this unit are asked to “unstack” and line up next to each other on this space. The camels are “unstacked” from top to bottom and lined up in the same order from left to right. (The top camel is therefore on the far left, at the outer edge of the playing field, and is considered to be the furthest forward).

As soon as the camels have been “unstacked” (or a single camel has landed on the field), the referee camel is removed from the track and placed next to the game board. It is not used again until the start of the next stage.
If a camel unit lands on a field of camels that have already been unstacked, it jumps onto the camel furthest to the left.

Then I hope you have lots of fun printing, possibly giving away, but above all playing.
