Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my designs, you can support my work with a boost!

This is a loaded dice, perfect to prank your friends! The chance to roll on the rigged side is almost 2x better than a regular dice!

I rolled it over 300 times to roughly determine it's probabilities: It has a chance of about 30% to land on the rigged side, and only 5-6% to land on the opposite side. All the other sides seem to roll with a chance of about 16%, similar to a normal dice.

There is one version favoring each number from 1 to 6, as well as a fair dice with the same look. Consider printing all you want at once, so you save printing time and material for color changes.

This dice must be printed with 100% infill. You can reduce the infill to make it less likely to fall on the rigged side. The rigged side must always face down when printing.

The multi color version doesn't get fully fully flat sides, that's sadly how multicolor prints work. It doesn't impact functionality and you can grind them flatter or use a tool like the scraper to flatten them out more.

I included a single color version - these are different models with indentations you could color with paint.

Yes, one of my better (most fun for the students) lectures. They got two dice and had to figure out which one was loaded and which number. Basically an easy stats lecture. + they got some contact to 3d printing which obviously was the most important part 😀 Many thanks!

Nice. I got these rolling statistics for the 6-bias version. I have no Idea why the 5 is also overrepresented, but it is a great coincidence.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I had a few prototypes which didn't have enough weight to make a noticeable difference, but I have seen such outliers very frequently in my own statistics, for all numbers - and I really think they are just pure randomness. To prove me wrong, you have to do it again. :P

They work great, and you don't feel that they are cheated. I would recommend to print multiple at once to reduce waste per dice.

love how they turned out in marble pla. I used paint pens to color in the dots and they look great. they also generally roll on 6s!

Indeed, the marble also helps masking the little printing artifacts! Thank you for sharing!

I didn't notice a huge difference in the legitimate and loaded dice, but the dice model is excellent and prints fast!

Did you print it with full infill? Otherwise, pure randomness can be funny sometimes. With just a few dozen rolls I also couldn't always tell a difference, after a few hundred however it became clear the loaded side rolls two times as likely as all other sides.

In looking it seems that I did not have full infill...that would make sense. I also wonder if what you roll on makes a difference, but I'll try some more tests! Thanks for the reply!

So just to be clear, the dice itself is hollow if you print it with 100% infill, only the weight on the bottom is massive. I just mentioned it because some people reduce infill for faster printing. This will of course break this design.
