UniFi Protect G3 / G4 / G6 Instant Mount

Robust full range motion mount for the UniFi Protect Instant series cameras.

The stock mount for the UniFi Protect Instant series leaves a lot to be desired in terms of range of motion, so I created this mount to address this shortcoming.

Within this build there are a couple of options:

• Plate 1 contains the typical parts needed to build a mount. The piece that contains the dovetail interface, when oriented this way, is fairly weak so I have increased infill and wall count on this part for this particular plate.
• Plate 2 contains an alternate dovetail mount for flat surfaces
• Plate 3 contains a shorter camera interface piece
• Plate 4 contains the dovetail interface mentioned above but oriented in a much stronger position. Due to the use of supports, dovetail interference will need to be tuned by hand - I took a heavy pass on the supported chamfer side of the dovetail with a deburring tool and it was effective enough to allow a tight interference fit.
• Plate 5 has some links to allow you to extend the reach and mobility of the camera mount.
• Plate 6 has another type of link to allow you to extend the reach and mobility of the camera mount.

This build uses off the shelf hardware for assembly:

• 1x ¼-20 thread sockethead bolt, ½" length
• 2x #10-24 thread countersink bolt, 1-¼" length
• 2x #10-24 thread nut (you may also use nylon locknuts but they will stick out)
• 2x #6 wood screw, at least 1" length depending on wall material thickness.
