Description

Item description

THE potion to always have with you. It can do several things for you, but levitation is the most wanted effect.
Beware though, many have become addicted to it.

Warning : Bacteria can lodge in the overlapping layers of the print. The contents of the potion should not be consumed!

Content : The kit consists of 4 pieces to assemble:
- A gold base
- A gold outline
- A transparent potion
- A gold cap

Dimensions (in cm): Length: 6.7 / Depth: 6.7 / Height: 8.0.

Filaments used:

PLA Silk Gold

PETG Transparent Basic

Kit assembly

Glue is required during assembly.
A: Cap / B: Potion / C: Outline / D: Base

Lightly insert cap A into potion B, be careful to not apply too much force at the top of potion B.
Then turn the cap until it is completely screwed in. Stop before this applies too much force to the top of potion B.
Unscrew cap A and clean the residue from the top of potion B. Next time it will become easier to screw it back on.

Place outline C around potion B by inserting it from the top.
Then, apply glue at the 4 corners of base D put B/C on it. You may also put glue in the middle of base D.
Press the corners of base D and outline C firmly together to spread the glue and make them stick.

Once the glue has set, you can use a funnel or a piece of paper to pour a liquid into the potion B.
For a nice nogg color, water mixed with blue or green liquids works well. Up to you to find the best brew!
Then close potion B with cap A.

Project history

The Nogg is my very first project.

It started in 2019 and was what made me buy my first 3d printer after failing to re-create this potion using other materials.

It underwent a long prototyping phase with many different design attempts :

In 2023, I closed the project in the same state I'm delivering to you today on Makerworld.

It could still be improved, but the final result has reached my personal expectations, and I'm quite happy about it.

Printing notes

Due to the way the potion is printed, its upper part is a little fragile.
Be careful not to apply too much force on it so as not to break it.

The gold filament can be hard to print while maintaining its texture effect.
Lines may be visible on the walls of the gold parts.
In rare occurrences, holes may also appear.

The lower side of the gold base may contain traces left by the first layer of printing.

Happy printing !

I know these pictures don't show the warping too well but how do you make it so that it prints a perfect pyramid? I am not sure what I am doing wrong but it is the Bambu translucent PETG and it was warped while printing. The top and bottom are good just not the middle lol.

Did you add any kind of sealant to the container part to ensure it doesn’t deteriorate and leak? I had a leaky corner, but I realized that won’t be much of a problem if it’s glued between the gold pieces.

Hello! I tried to use an amazon waterproof sealant on the cork once and wasn't convinced so I didn't use it again. My process was to fill the pyramid with water, rotate and shake it a bit to test each border, and then put it on a sheet of paper towel for one day. If it didn't leak then that pyramid was good. If it leaked then I'd discard that pyramid and reprint it. Once printed, PETG shouldn't degrade in water. But if the pyramid alone leaks, then glue won't be enough to seal it as far as my tests went. I have a few filled potions for more than a year now and didn't encounter any leak.

I love it & filled mine with dark green resin. very nostalgic. everything printed well except, the only part was the lid kept messing up for me. I tried everything. even slowing to 50% speed. ended up fashioning my own lid. not half as cool though.
