Wedge for Modern Windows
Print Profile(3)

Description
Why does one need a window wedge?
A window wedge keeps a window securely open, preventing it from closing on its own due to wind, drafts, or minor movements. It’s particularly useful for maintaining ventilation and avoiding accidental slamming, which could damage the window or pose a safety risk. Simply place the wedge in the gap between the window and the frame to stop it from moving.
What is special about this variant?
This window wedge is specifically designed for modern plastic-framed windows, keeping them securely in place. Its tailored shape ensures stability, preventing it from slipping out like traditional wedges made for older wooden frames. I've personally found it to be the most useful 3D print in my household, as I’ve been using it for about eight years now. I finally decided to share the model of it with the public.
For printing, I recommend using 4 outer walls (when using typical 0.42 mm width) or 3 walls having a 0.6 mm width and a 1-2 mm top and bottom layer thickness to withstand the lever forces of the window. This is especially important if someone tries to close the window without realizing it’s blocked by the wedge—a regular occurrence in my household. A slightly flexible material like PETG is ideal, but PLA also works.
The wedge of the .STL file and the .3MF file fits a gap of about 8 cm between the window and frame and a thickness of 10 cm for that outside frame of the window (see image below). In case your window is different, or you want to scale the model differently, you can use the customizer. Below are some sketches to help you fill out the form for the customizer, especially if your window looks a bit different than mine.
