Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you like this, please boost me and I'll make more thematic covers!

This extruder cover/faceplate was designed to mimic something from the world of Alien. After seeing Alien: Romulus, I wanted to create a containment chamber for a facehugger to endlessly float inside.

There are infinite color options for printing this, I used antique gold pla, brick red pla, black pla and silver pla for the main body of the faceplate, and dark green PLA-CF for the bracket for the finish. I think it would work well in PETG as well if you rotate out your nozzles regularly.

Print with a 0.2mm nozzle, I have some layer speeds adjusted in the speed settings.

While this model DOES feature a non-3D printed part (the window from my original cover), it's not an option to select. I think it's like $4. Totally optional.

For assembly, a few dabs of superglue on the edges of the frame and crossbeams work great. Same for adhering the window, place the window in and put a couple of dabs of superglue around the back edges.

The two part facehugger disc will require one dab of superglue on the facehugger component to adhere it to the glow PLA.

Enjoy!
