Behind the Scenes: The Technical Mastery of the Alert Button
Pressing the button isn't just for show—there's some clever engineering at work. When the button is pressed, air gets released through tiny holes in the upper section, forcing it through two differently-sized chambers. This design produces a piercing, high-pitched sound across two frequency bands, ensuring the alert is impossible to ignore.
During development, I explored various chamber shapes and sizes, as well as multiple filament types, even trying TPU for flexibility. After a lot of trial and error, the best results came with four PLA springs embedded in the box base (basic PLA is working a bit better then matt version because of less friction), and the all-in-one integraded Button design giving the perfect sound and stability. This project combines precision with fun, and I can't wait for others to experience it!
