Description

Introducing the latest addition to our exciting series of marble arcade games - Bowling! At Ozarkexpeditions, we're thrilled to bring you another modular, easy-to-assemble, and entertaining game that captures the essence of classic bowling with a fun, marble-powered twist. Our mission is to create toys, games, and functional prints with high replay value that everyone in the family will want to gather around and enjoy. Whether you're looking for a quick solo game to unwind or a friendly competition with family and friends, our Bowling game is the perfect choice. Setup is made super easy with the use of magnets

Inspired by retro-style arcade games, this release continues our journey back to the 1980s arcade and bowling alley experience, with a bit of art deco inspired design mixed in. As part of our growing Marble Arcade Series, it's compatible with the ramps and launchers from our other games like Skee Ball and Mini Golf, allowing you to mix and match for even more variety!

✨Stay up to date with what we're making and sell prints of our designs over at our Patreon community. We will have more marble games in this series, so follow along.

Game Play:

  • Setup: Position the Bowling game on a flat surface and ensure the pins are set up in the pin area. If you choose to use magnets in the game, set up is even faster. Place the ball launcher at the desired distance from the pins.
  • Required marble size: 8mm for the bowling ball, same as our other games in the series.
  • Objective: Knock down as many pins as possible with each roll, aiming for a strike (all pins down in one roll) or a spare (all pins down in two rolls). Note: because this is just a small version of the game using magnets, we recommend that you just keep the pins where they fall until your turn is over. No need to clear the lane with each roll. You may even decide that each player gets 3-4 rolls per turn since the marbles are smaller than real bowling. 🙂
  • Gameplay:
    • Solo Play: Roll the ball, trying to knock down all the pins. Keep track of your score over 10 frames.
    • Competition: Players take turns, each getting a full game of 10 frames. The player with the highest total score wins!
  • Scoring: Follow traditional bowling scoring rules. A strike is worth 10 points plus the points from your next two rolls. A spare is worth 10 points plus the points from your next roll.
  • Winning: The player or team with the highest total score after 10 frames wins the game! 🎳🏆

Printing & Assembly:

Non-printed components can be found at our Amazon links or at the Maker's Supply link below. Your Bowling game will be ready for action in no time!

  • (20) 5x2mm round magnets - This multi pack is our go-to option to keep in the shop for many projects. https://amzn.to/3MPL45r
  • (10) 8mm marbles - It's really up to you on how many steel balls you would like to have for your game. https://amzn.to/4gyFv9h

Assembly is a snap. Follow these simple steps to get started:

  • Prepare the Pieces: All pieces are oriented in the print profiles for the best printing experience.
  • Optional: If you would like to add the magnets, simply push them into the provided holes in the back of the bowling lane surface and the 10 pins. Please ensure that you have the correct magnetic orientation so that the pins are easy to set up.
  • Attach the Main Game Plate:
    • Align the main game plate with the base's alignment snaps.
    • Press the plate down firmly until you hear a satisfying click, ensuring the pieces are snug.
Insert the magnets in the correct orientation and push them in with a tool. These will be tights as they have been sized so that you do not need glue.
Align the clips in the bowling surface to the base and firmly press down to ensure that all four clips are secured.
  • Launcher Setup:
    • Use the same launcher from our Skee Ball or Mini Golf games or print a new one if this is your first game in the series by selecting an option below.
Find the handheld launcher here.
Find the fully printable spring launcher here.

Compatibility:

This game is designed to work seamlessly with other games in our Marble Arcade Series. Use the same ramps and launchers from Skee Ball and Mini Golf to create new challenges and game variations!
