Hi folks, summer is officially over and if you have an in-ground steel wall pool in your garden you need a cover. My colleague built a tent structure out of HT pipes and because I didn't feel like building the center out of wood, I fired up Fusion 360 and this is what came out. The center of the tent is flexible up to angles of about 45°, the edge supports are also. The edge of our pool is 3cm and the clamping width of the edge support is 40mm. I used 10x 2m HT 50 pipes, which cost me a total of under €40 at the hardware store. I bought a pool tarp for €42 on Amazon, but you should make sure to buy a slightly larger one, as the conical shape of the tent means a tarp with the exact pool dimensions won't quite be enough. In total, you need about 1.2 kg of filament, so all in all you get a pretty nice pool cover for under €100. With our pool with a 3.5m diameter, it's really stable and makes a good impression.
