Description

Version 2 of an insert for a standard BambuLab Spool that can be filled with silica/desiccant beads to be dried in a filament dryer.


Includes a convenient snap-in funnel for easy filling and transfer of beads into other containers.

Fully enclosed so can be used with filament dryers like the Eibos Polyphemus that rotate the spool.

Drying time 6-8 hours on 70c for a full container (in Polyphemus dryer)


Improvements over v1:
- larger diameter so it can now hold ±550 grams (vs ±400 grams)
- 1 mm taller for tighter seal against spool cap to prevent spilling contents
- bottom indicator to easily identify the close bottom vs open top when opening your spool
- funnel now comes with a spout for pouring beads out and a funnel to easily fill it

 

No supports needed.
Please note, it is essential to use materials that can withstand higher temperatures, such as PETG, PolyCarbonate, or similar high-grade plastics. (not PLA!) Some ABS/ASA brands may shrink causing tolerance issues if you don't calibrate slicer compensation for this.

 

There's an STL for a version with thinner and more slots (1mm instead of 1.5mm for regular version) for use with smaller silica beads.
