We simply loved the Biting T-Rex by @Myron_Yuskovych , link to the model down below!

We were unable to source the spring in a timely fashion so we decided to try our hand at modeling one. We imported the T-Rex head and lower jaw into Fusion and started tinkering. After a hand full of trials we landed on this design. It will not close the jaw all the way like a spring would, but it will keep just enough clamp force so the little guys can nibble on a finger or any other object! Capable of supporting the dino's weight while suspended and chewing on a bone (link below), this is a good alternative to needing to purchase a spring.

This design is likely to evolve as we find weak points, it has been subjected to some ad-hoc stress testing already but I am sure something is bound to break. Please let me know what suggestions you have and I will work to bake them in!

Printed at 100% infill for strength, this only took about 13 minutes on the X1C and the majority of the time was bed leveling and flow calibration. Print this in pink or red and it may look like a tongue!

To install, insert the skinny section into the lower jaw and slowly and carefully join the two together. Make sure the thicker section is in the upper jaw. We found that dry fitting the jaws without the spring a few times made installation easier later on. You will likely need to install the left hinge first, just keep an eye out for bending or flexing of the spring!
