Description

Rotary Pet Treat Container for Dogs, Cats & more?

Created for the Makerworld Pet Supplies Design Contest in August, 2024.

This design is Print In Place, No assembly required.

When i'm walking my dog I like to give treats for good behaviour. With a ziplock bag or other container, it can be annoying to open and keep track of while holding a leash. I designed this relatively simple print-in-place container to solve that, making it very easy to dispense a treat.

The model body is a hexagon with a nested circular capsule inside. Matching holes allow you rotate the body to open and close the container. The center is knurled with dog bones for better grip.

Print Settings

This can be a challenging print for some machines, with long, enclosed bridges in the center.

I have tweaked the settings alot to ensure it prints well on my machine, though you may need to make adjustments based on your filament.

Here are some setting I recommend:

Bridge Flow: 0.9

Avoid Crossing Wall: Yes

Slow Speeds

Reduce Infill Retraction: No

printed on a bambulab x1c with the suggested settings. I used bambulab PLA and got a bit of sagging on the long bridge. also I'm finding the tolerance a bit loose and it can spin and open with it just hanging off the leash. other than that, it's a good print.
