Gate Mate: Broadening Bridge for Baby Barriers
Print Profile(1)

Description
Fix pesky gate-mounting issues with these simple designs to help secure baby gates to bannisters or walls. I made these because the gate I bought went out of stock and the official extensions became unavailable for purchase, so I had to improvise.
This simple 3D printable shims is parametric in Fusion360, allowing you to tailor them to the unique dimensions of your home’s stairway or your gates' round “feet”.
You can easily adjust the height, and foot size of the shims for your own situation. I provide here the two sizes I needed for the top/bottom of my bannister and my gate. I then put rubber-backed adhesive (like this) on the bottom of the shims to allow it to serve as a pressure-fit extension to my KINGMAZI brand gate… but the same concept should work with other brands.
Be careful not to overdo it and use common sense: if using the extension creates too big a gap, you may inadvertently subvert the whole purpose of the gate.
Prints great in PLA or PETG at 0.2 layer height.
