I printed this a while back before instructions were included - I didn't have much of a problem with anything except the top half would require supports for the very top and then it was pretty mangled trying to remove the supports. I attempted to print the top portion with white filament - after fully calibrating - and not use supports, which turned out pretty well, but the "slider" does not go all the way "up" and must stick on something at the nearest top area, not allowing the magnets to catch, so it either hits near the top and falls back down, or just floats in limbo. So, to reprint it I opted to go with a glow in the dark orange filament and have tried to print this top portion 4 times now - and it fails at nearly the same part every time. I have reviewed footage of the print and it seems the spirals become quite weak at the length they are and it wobbles when the nozzle prints. The nozzle eventually leaves tiny bits or blobs as the spirals move slightly, and once they get hit a few times, it pulls the print off the bed and the rest is spaghetti. I attempted to print this at 0.8, 0.12, 0.16, and 0.2 and each time it does the same thing. I fully cleaned and wiped down my z screw/rods and have printed other tall objects (pastamagic spool rewinder) without any issues - so I'm curious why this is having the problem at the top every time. Do you have any specific instructions on how to print the top portion successfully? When I chose 0.2 last time, I chose the strength method to give the walls more filament in hopes it would make the spirals less wobbly - but it still wiggles and then detaches... perhaps it's the glow in the dark filament that's the issue - but I have tried with the fans off as well thinking it was blowing the model over and with a giant brim (25mm outer) and it still comes loose after getting beat to death by the nozzle near the top, when trying to bridge the spirals together.

sure, the top side is not easy to print with perfect surface. It sometimes has some rough surface. But i print it successfully every time. You can try to change material. And pla is recommended.

design is cool with integrated magnets. at the moment it only works 1 side. i will have to look into it wy that is happening. boost for the design is well earned

Other Issues:Tried 2 times: both times the black spiral is printed with some trash on the borders in the end and then falls down, with printer printing a black thread. As both times were exactly the same I believe something is very wrong with the print profile, at least for A1 Mini.

bought very strong neodymium magnets, does not work at all, the spring does not generate enough momentum to move the slider. tried 2, then 4 then 6 magnets. polarization is correct

if you understood the principle how this system works, you would know that your comment does not make much sense mate.

My coworker uses this as a magic wand, casting spells like "Greater Nerdery" and "Vicious Mockery"

It took a bit if tinkering to get the wand to work. need to really fill the prints smooth and add a liberal amount of grease.
