Description

This is a completely functional flip mount for mounting mirrors and other optical for optical setups. This mount allows you to screw a M4 bolt into it to fix optical mounts. To create a strong connection between the flip mount and the optics, I have introduced an M4 nut inside the model.

Additionally, the mount also has a hole so an M4 screw can pass through the flip mount and fix to typical Thorlabs 1/2" posts.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The print profile I uploaded stops at layer 30, at this moment you must put the M4 nut into the hole and then continue printing.

I also set a 100% infill density so it is possible to tightly screw the optical mount to the flip mount. It is possible to reduce this value but you must be aware and not make so much force in order to not deform the flip mount

To build it up, it is necessary to use a 16 - 20 mm M2 bold and an M2 nut to assemble the two pieces and two magnets (one for each piece). This model is designed to fit 6.5X1.58 mm (I leave below the link to purchase the magnets). If you need to fit magnets of other sizes, just contact me. I also tried 5X1 mm magnets but they were not strong enough to fix both pieces together firmly in the optical arrangement.
