Description
I present to your attention practical and reliable models for replacing original parts of Continuous Ink Supply Systems (CISS):
- Cartridge holder
- Tube holder
Original parts often break when attempting to remove the ribbon or separate the cartridges during printer maintenance. For the best results when printing these models, it is recommended to use PETG plastic. It is easy to print with and has sufficient strength.
The cartridge holder is available in versions for 6, 5, and 4 cartridges. If you need to modify the models to better suit your requirements, you can use the step format files.
My main print settings were as follows:- Layer height: 0.2 mm (nozzle 0.4 mm)- Extrusion Width: Perimeters=0.4 mm, External Perimeters=0.45 mm, Infill=0.5 mm- Infill: 20-30% and 2-3 perimeters to ensure sufficient strength- Printing temperature: 220-250°C for PETG- Bed temperature: 70-90°C for better adhesion
For the tube holder, the extrusion width parameters are set so that the body of the part is filled only with perimeters, as shown in the picture. This is done to reduce the likelihood of possible artifacts. If necessary, you can adjust the settings yourself to achieve this.
Seam Alignment: I recommend manually setting the seam location as shown in the picture. This option minimizes head movements and possible artifacts. You can also see an optimized arrangement for printing multiple parts.
Post-Printing Processing: After printing, remove the brim with a knife and sand the printed parts, paying special attention to the places where they come into contact with the tube.
Replacing factory counterparts with these parts will save you from stopping your printer at the most inopportune moment and keep you in a good mood.
