mallet set
Print Profile(1)

Description
I printed a mallet a while back someone else designed and really liked the feel of it but wanted something with a little more weight to it. so i designed my own mallet set. this set includes a small mallet, big mallet, pein style mallet, and a dead blow mallet.
personally since i use them pretty hard i think the best way to print is at 100% infill with 5 walls using petg for everything except the dead blow head and plugs which should be tpu. Of course they can be printed out of pla and still hold up pretty decent at 100% infill.
all models printed and tested, the parts are an almost exact fit so they take some strength to put together and your printer will need to be calibrated. the only mallet that is “special” is the small mallet since its head and handle can only go to each other, the other 3 heads and handles are interchangeable. The dead blow plugs are a good fit but work their way out after multiple strong blows so they need to be glued into the head i just used hot glue and covered the head of the plug and have had no issues since. all handles and heads can be printed from tpu to achieve better shock absorption. parts have been tested in both pla and petg and both have the same failure points, the handles weak spot is right where it meets the head where the shank opens for the lock but only failed after multiple full strength swings into concreate. the heads weak spots are the corners, if the faces are struck properly they handle the impact extremely well but if the mallet is swung at an uneven surface or onto the heads corner at full force it begins to shatter and chip away like a rock. currently in the testing phase of a tpu mallet head cover that will slip onto the small and big mallets to prevent damage to the mallets face i will update these files to add those covers when testing is complete.
