Fully printable flip up iron sights!

Things to note:

  • These use a friction fit to stay in the up and down position and can wear out over time
  • The sights should be a snug fit on your picatinny rails and be locked in place with a printed pin. If too tight or too loose for your rail, slightly scale all parts up or down.
  • Non adjustable.
  • Will co-witness most standard height optics.
  • Recommended to print with a very fine layer height. 0.08mm used in print profile.

I am sorry the print profile did not work out for you. Could you give more details on what went wrong and if any materials or settings were altered?

tolerance between the rod and the housing/sight was too tight and didn’t fit

Replying to @InterestingName :
it takes some force to get the rod in that way it stays in place. I push it against a table top to pop it in. if it still won’t fit you can try to widen out the holes with a blade.

I still need to install them, but it printed very well. it's amazing how much you can do with 3d printers. also, random, but there's apparently a company that makes filament similar to optical wire. I may have to try to implement it with this

Sorry to hear your experience. My page is dedicated to fully printable accessories which is why this design was not meant for screws. Pegs are completly removable with a punch (or just use a screwdriver). Thank you for the feedback, version 2 has some slight improvements over this one and can also be found on my page.

just need to fix the supports, there doesnt nee dto be any, we shoudl stretch the sights down so they dont need to be as thin, they can even have a cone etc. or even maybe print ring seperate with a stem, and hole in part it normalyw as so it can slide ina nd be adjustable even lol
