Coasters with Algorithmically Generated Patterns
Print Profile(1)

Description
Description:
This collection of geometric coasters is a celebration of the inherent beauty found in mathematical patterns. By removing the top layers in the slicer and utilizing a variety of infill patterns, each coaster reveals a unique and mesmerizing design. The intricate geometric shapes not only serve a practical purpose but also provide a visually stunning representation of mathematical principles.
Each coaster in this set showcases a different infill pattern, demonstrating the versatility and aesthetic potential of 3D printing technology. From spirals to honeycombs, stars to lattice grids, these designs are inspired by the elegance of mathematical concepts and the creativity they can inspire.
This project is my entry for the MakerWorld contest, "Beauty of Mathematics." It aims to highlight how mathematical patterns can transform everyday objects into pieces of art, blending functionality with beauty.
Parts:
- 8 Coasters with 8 different types of infill.
- A coaster holder for storing them when not in use.
Sidenote:
For optimal durability, print using PETG or ABS filament as PLA is less resistant to heat and may deform when exposed to warm temperatures ( such as a cup of hot coffee ).
Infill Types:

Hilbert Curve

Cross Hatch

Adaptive cubic

Honeycomb

Gyroid

Tri-hexagon

Octagram spiral
