A1 Mini Magnetic Screen Cover & Protector

Update Feb. 6 2025: I have updated the main profile to include magnets that are 5x3mm so the lid stays on, as per a suggestion, and since people have stated in the past it has been too loose and falls off. You can still use it without magnets if you want, and the old profile is also still available.

I designed this with many iterations over many hours to get a good fit while still being able to take the cover off easily, thus a two part project with a shell and a cover. Print the shell at 0.12 layer height for best corner quality on overhangs (and with a p1s/above for maximum cooling performance). Simply slide the shell over the screen from the front of the printer (add a piece of sticky tape inside if you want it to be nice and snug) and place the cover over the hole on the screen, this design differs from the other cover design that exists because it is modeled without a hinge, making the cover easily removable even if the build plate is all the way forward.

I redesigned the nozzle and status disc box by JAV-3D to fit with this cover, where the nozzles fit in a custom cut slot with an 0.4mm tolerance so removal is still easy. I also made a different version which is simply a box to store tools/etc.
