Description

  • 🛠 Dual Functionality: Make a silicone mold of a 3D printed dice or an existing one. Once the silicone cures, just flip it around, remove the die (master or blank), and pour in your resin to create new dice!
  • ♻ Silicone Efficient: Uses way less silicone compared to other methods, thanks to its spherical design. Save materials and be eco-friendly!
  • 🚧 Post Processing Required: Heads up! You'll need to use a sharp knife to cut open the mold you can remove the original die (master or blank). I suggest overpouring the resin, to prevent bubbles. It's easiest to cut the sprue off with sharp pliers before the die is fully cured. But hey, the effort is worth it for those perfect rolls! 🎲
  • 🚩Protect yourself This crafting project requires you to work with dangerous chemicals like silicone, and resin. Please read the instructions carefully, wear gloves, and work in a well-ventilated room.

This old is all about making your crafting journey easy.
They were heavily inspired by Wuerfels YouTube content and I've been using these molds for a long time. I hope they serve you the beautiful natural 20s you are looking for. 🌈

Going to try this out myself, question where is a good place to get master die from, I'm afraid if I 3d print them those layer lines will show up in the mold

In my experience you either have to make one in Resin and spend significant time sanding it. I love this video on the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHMOkc-T5cY OR.... You can just grab a dice you already own from your stash. That works as well and is already sanded, just make sure it's clean (some people even remove the paint from the letters, but if you ask me you don't need it)

you can buy pre-made masters from Etsy too, either sanded or unsanded. I got my set and they still work for making molds about 20 molds later. one note if you print your own form resin though, you may have cure inhibition to worry about as some resins have issues with platinum cure silicone.

I was wondering if I could use the mold to make dice out of filament poop (with something like an heat gun)

I've tried it and it has varying results. if you use a filament that needs to be hotter than the mold then the mold deforms in my case. but if you use the right filament then it works okay.

@user_149650160 would it work with the silicone mold and regular pla waste from filament poop? I have a few kilos of waste and need to get rid of it

I printed this with the intention of making dice for Christmas gifts but there was no instruction on how to seal it so I just winged it with rubber bands around the molds which did not work then I tried duct taping the seams and that didn’t work very well. so how did you seal it for the silicon?

I used a mini hand clamp. it leaked a little but it worked fine

Did any of you find that you had to use mold release spray to get the silicone to not stick to the 3D printed mold?
