Round Magnet

Description

A magnetic mount with compliant “hard lock” mechanism to adapt Peak Design's Mobile Case to any standard threaded accessory. I also include a version without any mounting features on the outside, for remix purposes.

Requires 4x 10mm x 3mm refrigerator magnets and a pause at the appropriate layer to embed them in the print.

Requires Peak Design's Mobile Everyday case or Universal Adapter for SlimLink compatibility.

My first print so far with this design was with:
- Prusament PLA Galaxy Silver
- 0.15mm layers, QUALITY preset
- 4 perimeters
- 30% gyroid infill
- supports to the base only
- printed with the boss/phone side down on the plate

This prints with a rather tight SlimLink – it is a very secure mount and requires a bit of fidgeting to get it to come off at first. I expect the securing tabs to wear out a bit and get easier to remove over time.

I printed this phone side down using the parameters above, except I didn't know how to attach supports to just the base. Seemed to print well, but removing the supports is a massive headache. I've printed supports before and it's been fine. Is there something I should be doing differently?
