Description

Apparently when you have a thing that you upload to both Makerworld & Printables it can be taken down for copyright infringement on one of the two sites. Anyway, trying this again but ‘importing’ my models from my Printable account this time

----

Ok so I needed a slightly different version of the chute for my particular setup as I have 2 Bambu printers sitting next to each other. If you have one of these you know when it shoots out the back it does have a tendency to ricochet against the wall but a short version of the chute by itself let things drop mostly straight down. Mostly.

This newer version has a much longer ‘chute’ with double the magnets (8mm diameter x 3mm thick) to make sure the filament when it shoots out the back goes straight down. I kept one side open much like the original that saves on filament and print time, but means you need to use tree supports to print this straight up for the least hassles.

For my setup the next thing is adding a small adapter and curve to the bottom so I can have the filament drop straight into a cereal container (I found they are tall, narrow and big, so perfect for filament collection). I probably should have added some notches for attaching extensions but it's what I need for my setup personally, so I might add those in later (or you can make your own version.

UPDATE - I added in the extra scoop part I made for myself. As mentioned I wasn't clever I just went with glue, so I added an extra piece to give you something to glue/join. You shouldn't need supports for the extension or adapter but you do need one for the chute

I've got only a small amount of room to manage and none of the other options came even close. This one... perfection. And the little scoop slide at the bottom means that the poop just drops into the box underneath. Super impressed. Oh - and there's enough room in the magnet pockets to put in 2 x 2mm magnets - it's definitely stuck on there!

quality is good, the chute felt a bit thin though.

You can just stretch the joiner piece if you feel lazy, I thought about that a tiny bit when I made it.

I couldn't figure out how to connect the pieces with the connector but that is on me. I just printed a flat plate, drilled holes, and used m3 screws and nuts to connect them.

Just glue, I wasn't being fancy as I mostly just did the curve part for me (then shared it). I thought glue would be temporary but it has been a year now and it is pretty firmly attached.

Will this design work for the PS1?

Honestly I do not know, I half expect it would share some of the same design attributes of a X1C... you can always drag a magnet around the poopchute part of your PS1 and see if there is places for the magnets to hold. I somehow doubt they designed a completely different poopchute but I have not tested it on a PS1 so you would find out before me.

Didn’t print well because I really screwed up the settings to make it print super fast, but after fixing it it’ll be much better than the solo cup I’m currently using
