This is a container for my filament samples, shaped as mini-floppy disks, which you can find here: https://www.printables.com/it/model/862027-floppydisk-filament-sample

I 3D printed the Storage Box with a 0.12 layer height, but 0.20 also works fine. No supports are needed. I 3D printed the lid in a vertical position, as my 3D printer can handle the bridge on the nose, but you can also 3D print it in a horizontal position with the hinges facing up.

The Storage Box mimics the old floppy disk containers of the 90s, so for better results I suggest using gray, beige or white for the base and transparent for the lid. PLA or PETG are both good.

There's a preferred way to assemble the lid, as there is a flaring part in the lid hinge (see image above).

Printed in Overture Grey PETG and Voxel Translucent PLA. Have to try some clear PETG with "glass" settings to see if I can get a clear lid.

I love the design otherwise, but the cover doesn't lock on to the base in any ways and I have spilled all my samples all over the floor so many times. 😂 Some kind of a latching/locking mechanism would be great addition to this model, but over all I'm loving it.
