LYNX DIY Blaster - EU Edition

NOTE! Please print this blaster in vibrant colors to clearly distinguish it from real firearms.

Following the release of my EU version of the CALIBURN 4 Blaster a few weeks ago, I now present my redesigned version of the Orion Blaster LYNX. While a metric template already existed, the scarcity of compatible parts from DIY stores or online retailers prompted the creation of this version. I have also integrated the following add-ons (included in the STEP file):

All integrated files have been adapted to my model.

For those unfamiliar with the LYNX Blaster, I highly recommend this video.

Preparation:

Some aluminum flat profiles require drilling and M3 thread cutting for assembly. Consult the STEP file for precise dimensions.

The 457 mm transfer bar needs notching. I used a template, Dremel, and cut-off wheel. The spring also requires shortening, easily accomplished with the same Dremel setup. Follow Out of Darts' instructions for the remaining assembly, but note that I inserted the plunger from the rear due to rail shroud interference.

Similar to the Caliburn, I prioritized M3 heatset inserts and readily available DIY hardware to keep costs down. Aluminum tubing and fasteners were sourced individually from HORNBACH or online auction sites.

Here's the complete Bill of Material (BOM):

Cut to these dimensions:

  1. Profile = 1x 233 mm (2x M3 thread cutting) + 1x 533 mm (1x M3 thread cutting)
  2. Profile = 1x 233 mm (2x M3 thread cutting) + 1x 533 mm (1x M3 thread cutting)
  3. Profile = 1x 457 mm (2x M3 thread cutting) + 1x 273 mm

Cut to:

  1. 1x 203mm

Cut to:

  1. 1x 470 mm (barrel)
  2. 1x 89 mm (plunger spacer tube)

The two springs (K25 & K31) are nested for optimal approximation to the original.
