Description

Build Your Own Six-Shot Blaster with Compliant Mechanism!

16.12.2024 Hotfix: Updated the trigger's spring design for improved durability and extended lifespan.

This 3D-printed Six-Shot Blaster is a simple, fun project for makers of all skill levels. Here's how it works and what you need to know to build and enjoy it:

  • One-Part Blaster & Magazine: The blaster is designed as a single piece, so there’s no assembly required. The magazine is also 3D printed and holds 6 bullets.
  • Important Printing Tip: The magazine requires a brim during printing to ensure success (my prints failed without it). After printing, make sure to carefully remove the brim for smooth operation. All parts are printed using PLA material.
  • How It Works: Load the magazine with 6 bullets, slide it into the blaster, and you’re ready to go! Once you fire the last shot, the magazine drops out automatically. You can then quickly slide in another pre-loaded magazine from the top.
  • Performance: Using the strong version, the blaster can shoot up to 3 meters. It’s loads of fun, especially when paired with the included 3D printable targets.
  • Safety First: Please don’t aim at animals, people, or anything fragile. This project is not suitable for children under 3, as the bullets are small and could pose a choking hazard.

Check out my YouTube video where I showcase the Six-Shot Blaster in action, explain the compliant mechanism design, and walk you through how it works. Watch the full video here:

great work, love the design. the strong spring works well but I always gotta be extra about things so I added a grip, 12 shot mag, picatinny rail and a reflex sight. although it doesn't fit in my pocket as good as the original.

Thank you SO much for this design. I printed a bunch for the family for Christmas including a candy dish full of extra ammo. I handed them out before the presents. A wonderful battle broke out. So much laughing and dodging. Everyone had a great time. Thank you very much.

This was super easy to print overall. I had some slight struggle with printing the rounds just because they are so small, but that's probably due to my build plate being dirty.

Yeah, those small rounds can be tricky. And wow, you really went crazy with the magazine - it’s insane!

it might help to add brims

I added some more bars to the trigger and another to encourage the trigger to be pushed up more and grip better. Works well now!

@user_3371313883 Well, I actually made the changes in prusa slicer so don't have an STL... I can send you the project file though. Remind me in 10 days when I'm back from holidays.

For additional fun I created some holsters and extra magazine holders for this amazing item. "Holster for Blaster" https://makerworld.com/en/models/937425

great print, but it would be cool if on top you put a larger surface so you could slide the magazine there. I'll send a photo to you see what I mean.

This is great and I have made a box to hold all of the components. Just search for Blaster Box. The blaster is lots of fun and I wanted to be able to give them as gifts.

that’s specific to your filament needed to be put in a dryer, it’s absorbed too much moisture

yeah i tried several filaments but they may absorbed some moisture

you can’t blame a print for having stringing when you’re using filament that’s absorbed moisture, I’d pick up a filament dryer, they’re super cheap. mine does 4 at once and only cost me $140 AUD on amazon
