Description

This is my design for a 2023-2024 Hyundai Palisade Cell Phone Dash Mount. I have a few versions included:

  • Smooth Magsafe
  • Ribbed Magsafe
  • Universal M5 Bolt Pattern Backplate (for you to use as backplate to make your own variation)

I used this Magsafe Puck in my design. Presses in with my printer and settings with an interference fit: Magesafe Puck

I also used this Motorola MA1 to get wireless android auto so now I am totally free from wires: Motorola MA1

I have included STEP and STL for each version. Plus the native CAD file below.

Onshape native file: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/39aaa17fe3a70b9f13986350/w/f00b89edf049c863b481322c/e/f5d9caefbace222779366afb?renderMode=0&uiState=6637f119e274c9461777f5d9

And a video of it snapping in (you can use a small square of 1mm thick VHB to add to the holding power of the integrated locking fin (see image above for location):

I remixed it a bit to fit my old phone holder. ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SN3DKSV ) I could have done it properly and removed the void for the magnet but I did it quick and dirty and just added the ball and stem in the center of the void. I printed mine in ASA. Ignore the line artifact in the print as apparently one edge lifted on the print and the extrusion head tried to smoosh 3 or 4 layers onto one bouncing edge. This fits my 2025 Pali. I also removed a bit of the width at the bottom connector so I could slide the edge a little further over towards the speedometer opening and away from the center screen a bit more. I'm driving it with it like this for the weekend but will likely shorten the stem a bit so It's not right behind my wiper control so much.

Looks great, I love when people remix and make it work for them just the way they want. If you go for a version 2 and need a little help on anything let me know. I always like small modeling projects. And thanks for sharing your print.

Thanks. Yeah I could really refine it for my ram mount use case but I'm headed out of town for a few day road trip, I just got my Palisade and wanted somewhere to put my phone and charge it because the wireless system it has is basically just a phone heater. After a weekend of driving I'm sure I'll have some refinements but like I said I just needed quick and dirty for now. I added a remix in case anyone has the same holder as me. And thanks for offering to help and posting your onshape document. You do some pretty awesome designing.

doesn't work for the Palisade LX2 (2018). it's bigger than the screen. also screen has no space to insert holder under it

yeah, unfortunately it only works on the newer models. and it looks like they're going to update it again so it probably won't work on those either. sorry, I don't have other years to measure to make alternate versions. it took a bit of fiddling in CAD to get it to work on my model year.

Very Elegant print. Works great, although Magsafe charger magnet not very strong. Had to change phone case. I had another charger that was a little larger, but much better magnet. Still strongly recommended. Printed a second for a friend.

weight of iPhone was a little too much for my MagSafe so added a ledge at the bottom to support phone. works great.

Here is my slight mod. My Palisade is 2020 model.

I printed the original model but like you my phone is to heavy to stay on the magsafe. I like the idea of the shelf so could you post your model for download?

Where and how did you route the wires for the charger? I want as clean of a look as possible

I ran it down to underneath the center foot well area where there's two USB ports. I wedged the wire in between two panels.

Did it fit?

It did but I wound up not using it. I didn't want to use the tape on the dash.

Printing this now and boosting already! +1 for sharing something that many people may not known is out there but solves an amazing issue I have had with our new Palisade. Props to you!

Great to hear you find it useful. I have been loving mine in that location. FYI I ended up putting some high temp double sided tape on the backside of the magsafe puck after a couple months to keep it firmly inside the print. It fits tight, but on a hot summer day the CF-ABS expands just enough the puck can occasionally pull out when taking the phone down. Thanks for the Boost.

Good to know, and noted! I’ll see what I can get, it came out beautifully and I printed in PETG so we’ll see how it turns out in the Alabama heat!

Any chance you could make this for a 2022?

I don't have a 2022, so I unfortunately don't have a way to get the dimensions to make it fit.

printed great! fits perfectly! thanks so much for sharing. I printed in pla but will probably reprint in a more heat durable filament closer to summer
