Description

»» PRINT V2 INSTEAD!!! ««

Update June 22, 2024 - Increased height of bottom tray. I thought I had already made this change, however I neglected to upload the new file. My print profile has been updated. New optimized Multicolor Profile. Uses less waste and is faster.

Update January 4, 2026 - The bounce points that I'd added a while back prevented the dice from going through, so the profiles with the bounce points have been removed.

Update January 4, 2026 - Released V2, which fixes many issues. I strongly recommend you print the new version instead of this one.

I find it very strange that the full color model has green all up inside the plant head, adding an additional color change for like 50 layers. I repainted the model, reduced print time by over an hour and decreased waste (I think by 30g?). However somewhere I messed up on color thickness as my "mouth" was a shade pink. I also enlarged by 10% (probably should go up to 20) as this tower being used for standard d12 and d20. 10% was fine but seemed a hair small. With the extra sided dice the tower gave a decent spin to the dice so no complaints on randomness.

Other Issues:A regular sized D20 does no fit and gets jammed! :(

It's intended and tested for D6's, you can try scaling it up in the slicer to make it fit larger dice. Sorry it didn't work :(

doesn't work with a normal D6 either.

Ah, I remember now. I added bounce points in response to Graylynn's comment below, but those must not fit a normal dice. I'll re-upload the old version that works for sure. It was random in my testing, so the bounce points aren't fully needed.

The point of dice towers is to help roll the dice, as well as being interesting to look at. This dice tower has no internal geometry other than the exist ramp for the dice to bounce off on the way down to help it roll randomly. I suppose it will roll 'enough' on the exit ramp, but it's not what I expect from a dice tower. For sure could have used additional bounce-points internally. The mesh could have also easily been made to eliminate the supports required under the pipe lip by just creating an angle, it would still look OK but be infinitely more printable. Important to note: if you split-to-parts or split-to-object you can separate the plant from the pipe which is great for not needing to print the whole structure at once, you can just easily place / glue the plant on top later. But you can't separate the pipe from the tray which is annoying because, again, I'd like to print those separately in different colors without it taking a bajillion hours on my AMS. It could have easily been designed where the plate can be separate, and the plate could have receptacle holes allowing for the pipe to fit into the tray later. I could fix a lot of this myself but I don't feel like putting the time in at the moment, may re-visit, would not print as-is.

I love the model thank you! However, my children's dice are quite large and don't fit :/ Is there a way to reduce the two top rebound parts (or do you have a model without these two parts) so that it doesn't block the descent too much

This is great but I wish there was something else internally to help the dice roll. Sometimes the dice goes straight down and doesn’t roll.

It looks like you might've printed this a while back. The issue has been solved for a week or so, so please retry and let me know how it goes! Sorry the old version didn't work properly!

I have an additional input if you don't mind. Is it possible if you can help separate the white and red on the piranha head? So we can print on each color separately and glue it together after. This will have lots of hours and filament to print it. Thank you.
